about the vessel

Restless Soul Is a 1980 Center Cockpit Formosa 51  Ketch  (yes, just like Captain Ron). Length overall is at 65 ft. She is a seasoned world traveler with a very colorful past.

A traditionally rigged full keel Ketch, Restless Soul is a true "Bluewater" sailing vessel with one of the highest comfort ratios of any boat on the sea. After an extensive refit in Sint Maarten and a complete rebuild from the ground up, she is now a serious "off the grid" self-sufficient sailing machine capable of being away from harbor indefinitely as far as water and electrical systems go.

The accommodations below are quite comfortable and spacious. She is the Captain's lifelong dream vessel and is cared for as such.  Once you've sailed on her,  whether it's a day sail, sunset sail or extended charter, she will visit your dreams for the rest of your life.

CAPTAIN SULLY

Captain Michael Sullivan is a lifelong sailor with saltwater in his blood. From his childhood spent on the water with his Naval veteran father and salty grandfather fishing to boating off the Jersey Shore, Montauk, and Maine, Captain Mike has always loved the sea.

Learning to sail in Sint Maarten as a young man brought his love for the sea to a new level. A 1-hour Hobie Cat rental turned into a 4-hour sailing lesson that changed everything. The wind, waves, and currents were immediately understood. He felt at home and found his calling.

Progressing through the years and moving up in boat size from a small lake sailboat in Maine up to his current pride and joy, his gorgeous 65' traditionally rigged Formosa Ketch.

Captain Mike holds a USCG 50-ton Masters Captain's license with Sailing endorsement and is more than capable of safely carrying you through your adventure on board and eager to share his knowledge and experience with you.
